Double-Convex Lenses are ideally suited for many applications with restricted imaging. The double-convex lenses consist of convex spherical surfaces with equal radii of curvature on the front and rear surfaces, giving the lens symmetry and minimising spherical aberration.

Double convex lenses are symmetrical therefore have equal radius of curvature on both sides. Biconvex lenses are used as magnifiers, objectives, condensing systems. Since both surfaces contribute to the power of biconvex lenses, they have shorter focal length than PCX lenses of equal diameter and surface radius. Lenses can be anti-reflection coated (please refer to the Coatings service).
